Ah, Sirens. :) This episode is a little goofy, and was mostly an excuse to put our princesses on a boat and have them go undersea.
It was absurdly expensive and complicated to do an underwater episode at this stage of the production : it was only the 7th episode ! Everyone was still trying to understand our characters, see where the show was going, how it would look like, etc.
In Sirens, we experimented a lot, while having little to no room for mistakes (since we wouldn’t be able to fix our mistakes due to our tiny schedule & budget). Kind of risky, right ? But thanks to that, we ended up making a very unique episode within the show, and I think it’s a good thing.
We could push Auriana’s boy crazyness (to the point it reminded me Usagi and Minako from Sailor Moon) while having her save the day and not be a hindrance.
And we could prove to ourselves that, while Iris was to remain the main Princess, we could also have the main focus on another princess and it would still work. This lesson in particular would be very valuable for the rest of the show.

Hi LoliRockers ! Season 2 hasn’t been on Netflix for a week, and our mailbox is already flooded ! That’s great ! ^_^ Please continue ! (Even if I can’t answer all).
We’re so happy you like this new season. So here’s a little gift : Dark Talia and Dark Auriana’s model sheet. They’re a little different from the show itself, but I’m sure you’ll appreciate those.
Now, you have the whole Dark Princesses trio. :)
In term of personalities, what would the three corrupted princesses be like ? We thought of this, and even though all of this didn’t go to the episodes, I think you’d be interested to see what what we wrote and imagined, for the fun of it.
- Dark Iris : Iris is caring, and loves everyone. Surprisingly, some of these traits survive inside her dark counterpart. Dark Iris was supposed to be like a knight, devoted to evil. She strongly believes that evil is for the greater good : Strength, Power, Order are what matter. and while she doesn’t take pleasure in doing Evil or destroying things like Praxina or Mephisto, she’s merciless and won’t hesitate to do anything to spread evil in the world. As the charismatic evil heir of Ephedia, she would be able to attract a lot of other villains that would follow her blindly. She would be a great leader for them though, very far from the way Gramorr treats his own subordinates. But her weak point would be targeting her subordinates, as it’s the only thing that could anger her and make her go out of her careful planning. (Note : In episode 1.12 “No Thanks for Memories”, Iris is brainwashed, and taught the basics of Dark Magic. She’s on her way to truly become Dark Iris, but is still far from what we imagined.)
- Dark Auriana : Well, the episode 2.05 “Wicked Red” depicts well how we saw Dark Auriana. While she usually crave for attention, for her evil counterpart it goes to the extreme. Narcissistic and self-centered, she loves only herself and doesn’t even see others until they get in her way… in which case, she’ll use all her powers to smite them down. Preferably in a flashy way. The only one she would follow : Dark Iris, whose charisma and magnetism are the only ones able to fascinate Dark Auriana. Imaginative and spontaneous like her light counterpart, Dark Auriana would be unpredictable yet deadly. You don’t want to mess up with her. Her weak point would be her obsession of… herself !
- Dark Talia : In episode 2.18, Talia is mind-controlled by Praxina and Mephisto, who made her a mindless puppet : that was their only way to bring the very strong-willed Talia to their side. But what if they found a way to successfully corrupt her heart instead ? Dark Talia was thought to be an Ice Queen, showing very little of emotions, and never smiling. She hates emotions and finds them unnecessary and a disturbance to doing things properly. She likes Order, to the extreme, and would not hesitate to freeze those who disturb her in black crystal. What matter the most to her : achieving her own goals, and following Dark Iris with absolute Loyalty. Intimidating, merciless, smart and deadly, she would be very tough do deal with. Her weak point would be her rigidity and inability to deal with an unpredictable opponent.
In term of relationships, Dark Talia and Dark Auriana probably wouldn’t stand each other, as they’re true opposites. They would both follow Dark Iris though, as very loyal subjects, and would put their differences aside when fighting a common enemy.
What about Mephisto, Praxina and Gramorr ? Well, that’s the fun part : they would still be enemies, as Dark Iris would want the absolute power for herself, and would not work for someone else. ;)
I hope these will inspire you. ;) It’s “our headcanons”.
